Update Viber
Variables instead of regular expressions
Updated how Viber templates work in response to Viber's transition from regular expressions to variables. Now, instead of regular expressions such as \d+ and \w+, variables in the format {1}, {2} are used. When creating a custom template, you can select text or a variable instead of String of characters.
Registration without a category
Removed the option to select a category when registering Viber operator templates. Operator templates support only text and text with variables.
Buttons, images, and files are available only in free templates.
Viber Free TemplatesNew validation rules
Added new validation rules for Viber operator templates:
- No more than 8 variables in a single template;
- The length of a variable’s value should not exceed 125 characters;
- A variable cannot be placed at the beginning or end of the text;
- There should be a space before and after a variable;
- Links cannot be used in variable values;
- The characters
#,(,+,%, and'cannot be used at the beginning or end of the text.
API changes
Updated the Viber operator template API—removed the category parameter and added the variableNames and textExampleParams parameters to pass variable names and examples of their values.
You can only register a Viber operator template with text or text containing variables via the API.
