Message Delivery Time in Channels (TTL)

Last updated: 1 June 2026

For each channel, the operator or provider sets a default message lifetime (TTL—Time To Live)—the period during which a message can be delivered to the recipient after it is sent.

TTL Behavior When Configuring Cascades
WhatsApp

  • If the cascade's TTL is set to a value shorter than the template's TTL and the message is not delivered within the cascade's TTL, the cascade proceeds to the next step. By default, Meta will continue attempting to deliver this message to WhatsApp until the template TTL expires.
  • If the TTL set in the cascade is greater than the template TTL and the message is not delivered within the template TTL, Meta stops delivery attempts, and the cascade proceeds to the next step after the template TTL expires.
